Campbell Football First

Campbell Football achieved a first of its kind moment on Saturday, in fact it happened twice in the span of 60 minutes, as former football standouts Greg Milhouse and Danny Dillon signed free agent contracts to play in the National Football League.

Milhouse, the two-time All-PFL selection from Garner, N.C. led the charge following an outstanding Pro Day in Buies Creek, signing with the New York Giants just minutes after the conclusion of the 2016 NFL Draft in Chicago.

Dillon, the man of many talents at Campbell University from Sanford, N.C. who started all four seasons as the long snapper, signed with the Arizona Cardinals over the weekend.

The outport of support and congratulations on social media was overwhelming, especially for a program sending its first two players into the National Football League under the direction of long-time Carolina Panthers great – Mike Minter.

Many other Fighting Camels are in the hunt for NFL auditions this Fall, including All-PFL pass rusher, and Campbell’s all-time sack leader, Ugonna Awuruonye. Back in April, 20 professional scouts visited Barker-Lane Stadium for the first-ever Pro Day.

The Fighting Camels open the 2016 regular season Thursday night against Bluefield College on August 25th at 7 p.m. Fans can follow the hashtag #BuiesCreektotheNFL and @GoCamelsFB for the latest updates on the Camels in the National Football League.
