The Campbell Men’s and Women’s Golf teams are down the coast from Buies Creek in crucial tournaments during the closing stages of the 2015-16 golf season.
Led by dual sport head coach John Crooks, Campbell Men’s Golf kickstarts the final round action of the Seahawk Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Landfill.
Craig Hornberger sits one stroke off the overall lead (-3) and Campbell ranks fourth overall, seven strokes behind the leader (Duke) in the team competition as action gets started this morning.
The Campbell Women’s Golf program begins opening round action in the loaded Briar’s Creek Invitational featuring eight programs ranked in the nation’s top-40 overall.
Campbell enters the event ranked No.-54 in the nation and boast tournament wins in the Golfweek Program Challenge and the Fighting Camel Fall Classic at Keith Hills CC.
The Fighting Camels remain one of the nation’s best in getting from tee to green. The Camels stand third in the country in fairway percentage (.796) and seventh in greens in regulation (.668).
