The Lady Camels easily disposed of the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, 73-52, snapping a season-long five game losing streak while finding their scoring ways in a much-needed win.
Playing in front of five-plus decades of former student-athlets, Campbell jumped out early and never looked back in a dominant win filled with plenty of nostalgic memories for CU Alumni.
Lead by a game-high 15 points from Sarah Smith, the offense produced its most points since beating Longwood back on Jan. 9, featuring 35 points from the Lady Camels’ bench alone.
The big star of the afternoon, however, was the nearly 50 alumni that returned to Buies Creek, celebrating their success and enjoying one last game together in Gore Arena.
Saturday’s festivities began with a Campbell Alumni tunnel for the starting lineups, featuring a halftime ceremony right on the floor, leading up to a fun conversation with former players and head coach Wanda Watkins after the game.
