Senior forward D.J. Mason continues to make his presence felt on the glass after recording a season-best 15 rebounds against Presbyterian on Saturday afternoon inside Gore Arena.
Don’t be fooled by his stature, the 6-foot-6 forward has now posted seven games with 10 or more rebounds this season leading Campbell with his fourth game featuring five offensive boards.
“I’m just being more aggressive (this year) and trying to go after every board,” said Mason. “I knew I could be better (rebounding) than last year and I’m trying everything I can to help this team win.”
Mason now leads the entire Big South Conference (8.6 RPG) on the glass this season, while also averaging nearly a double-double per game (11.6 PPG) following a season-high 24 point performance on 10-12 shooting against the Blue Hose.
As the Fighting Camels enter their 5th conference game of the season, Mason is beginning to heat up from the field by scoring in double figures during 9 of the last 10 games.
Mason, the Big South Conference leader in rebounds, returns to the floor on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. as Campbell heads to Gardner Webb. Fans can listen live on the Campbell Digital Network.
