Campbell women’s basketball returns to the hardwood after two weeks away from action, hosting Western Carolina tonight at 7 p.m.
The Lady Camels (4-2, 1-0) are led by their strong defense, limiting opponents to 58 points per game on a low 42-percent shooting from the field, now winners of four of their last five games overall.
One of the key cogs behind that stingy defense and opportunistic offense is senior RaeChaun Edwards, a preseason second-team All-Conference selection, who also leads Campbell in points (14.7), assists (4.3) and steals (2.2) controlling both sides of the floor.
Edwards tied her career high with 21 points (5-7 FG, 10-11 FT) in a 83-70 win over conference foe Coastal Carolina, scoring in double figures over four of the first six games this season.
For more on Edwards and her transition from the Big South leader in assists in 2014-15 into the front-line scoring threat and main distributor, GoCamels.com profiled the senior point guard.
