The Fighting Camels dropped a tough conference championship match to No. 1 seed Coastal Carolina on Sunday afternoon, ending a historic run to the finals of the Big South Volleyball Tournament.
Earning a trip to the conference championship for the first time since 1989, the Fighting Camels finished out the season winning four of their last six matches (14-17 overall, 6-8 Big South), posting their most wins in conference play since 2011.
Campbell upset both the No. 2 seed (High Point) in three sets and No. 6 seed (Radford) in four sets on Friday, overcoming a combined 0-4 record against those squads during the regular season.
I would like to thank everyone’s support and encouragement of our VB team throughout the season and the tourney. @GoCamelsVB @campbelledu

“I told the team to savor the feeling and understand that it is a stepping stone for this program to go forward,” said Greg Goral.
Following the Big South Conference Tournament, senior Mary Crema, the new all-time digs leader at Campbell and fellow senior Katelyn Layden were named All-Tournament selections.
The Fighting Camels return all but Crema and Layden, hoping to consistently build a championship contender year-in and year-out.
