While Fighting Camels dominated Davidson, 39-9, on Saturday in Davidson, N.C., the real story from Campbell’s 5th win of the season was that junior tailback De’Shawn Jones set a new single-game school rushing record with 201 yards on the ground.

Jones carried the ball 19 times resulting in three touchdowns, including two scores from 50+ yards out as the leading back propelled a rushing attack that earned 313 yards on the ground. He earned PFL Player of the Week honors, joining Ugonna Awuruonye (Oct. 3) as honorary players of the week from Campbell.
The Greensboro, N.C. native now ranks 10th in all of FCS Footbal with 946 yards rushing this season, topping 100 yards in four different games this season for the Fighting camels.
As a matter of fact, Jones’ recent efforts earned him the honors for most rushing yards in a single season at Campbell with two games to play. The Fighting Camels (5-4, 3-3) return to action this Saturday as they travel across the country to face San Diego.
