Volleyball Alumni Spotlight: Caroline Hammersley

The Fighting Camels are proud to announce the first story in a brand new online series that documents the best and brightest stories of former Campbell athletes working in the professional world.

Over the course of her Campbell career, Caroline Hammersley was named to the Atlantic Sun All-Academic squad twice. Her efforts were documented by the athletic department as well, earning the honorary coaches award during her senior season in 2010.

The Raleigh, N.C. native started 43 matches over her final three seasons at Campbell, earning playing time all four years on campus.

Caroline was also a member of the NCAA Student Athlete Advisory Committee here at Campbell, where she participated in planning student athlete activities and community service projects.

For more on her journey away from Gore Arena, we would like to thank current assistant coach Catherine Brusie for sharing an update on the former Campbell student-athlete and coach.

While Caroline was a member of the Fighting Camels’ Volleyball team, she studied trust and wealth management with a minor in financial planning. She continued her education in Buies Creek by obtaining a MBA in Business Administration (2012), while also serving as the graduate assistant coach.

After graduation, Caroline moved back to her hometown in Raleigh and is currently working with RBC Wealth Management as an Investment Associate. The hometown atmosphere is one of her favorite parts about CU.

She claims that she knew it was the right school for her the moment she stepped foot on campus. One of her favorite memories was beating Mercer at home on Senior Night.

The Campbell Women’s Volleyball team returns to action this Friday night at Charleston Southern along with another Big South Conference match on Saturday against Coastal Carolina.

The Fighting Camels return home for Military Appreciation Night against Liberty University next Friday, October 9th starting at 7:00 p.m., which will also be streamed live on the Big South Network.
