The Campbell Men’s Soccer team is starting to mature into a legitimate offensive club heading into Big South Conference play.
Thanks to an undefeated weekend at Eakes Athletic Complex, the Fighting Camels (4-3) have now won four straight matches for the first time since the 2011 season. Campbell opens Big South Conference play this Saturday night, hosting Longwood University at 7:00 p.m. as part of another Futbol doubleheader.
After surviving a 2OT thriller (4-3) against Jacksonville on a match-winning penalty kick from Bradley Fairs, Campbell posted its first shutout of the season on Sunday; one solid 1-0 win over Stetson.
One of the leading cogs behind this improved offensive attack has been sophomore Bradley Farias, who has now scored in each of the last five matches for the Fighting Camels. In fact, Farias’ recent scoring run moved him into 4th place overall for NCAA goals scored.
