UCLA Coach Mazzone Showing Some Love

Offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone wanted to spread his best wishes for Campbell’s starting quarterback, Kameron Bryant, one of his former quarterbacks, heading into the regular season.

In between stops working as the wide reciever coach for the New York Jets (2006-08) and accepting the offensive coordinator job with Arizona State, all before earning his current offensive coordinator job with UCLA, Mazzone was the offensive coordinator at nearby Panther Creek High School in Cary, North Carolina.

During his prep career, Bryant earned 2010 first-team all-Tri-Nine Conference recognition by completing nearly 62 percent of his passes for 2,530 yards and 26 touchdowns with only eight interceptions as a senior reaching the 4AA Semifinals. During his junior season, working under Mazzone, Bryant helped orchestrate a pass-oriented spread offense for the Catamounts.

Bryant, now entering his redshirt senior season here at Campbell, was very gracious for the kinds words from his former coach.

You can watch Bryant and the Fighting Camels take the field Thursday night for the 2015 season opener against Pikeville starting at 7:00 p.m. from Barker-Lane Stadium.
