The Women’s Volleyball program continues a tough slate of games on the docket, now traveling to North Carolina A&T on Tuesday night. The Fighting Camels are 1-2 this season coming off an impressive 3-0 set victory over Grambling. Following their first win of the season, third-year head coach Greg Goral was satisfied with his team’s performance in the tournament finale.
“We executed really well against an athletic Grambling team. We put pressure on them with our serves and attacks. I feel good about how we ended the tournament. We are learning how we need to approach each match,” said Goral.
Heading into Greensboro looking to regain .500 status, the Fighting Camels will ride the momentum of Jessica Stocking, who recorded 12 kills in the win over Grambling. All-Tournament selection Jenny Tait pieced together an impressive weekend with 22 kills and nine blocks over the three matches while Rebecca Ramirez notched a match-high 12 digs against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
The rest of the week will be filled with exciting action, featuring the Hampton Inn and Suites Holly Springs Invitational along with a unique exhibition contest against the Italian Junior National Team on Sunday afternoon. And what better way to celebrate a hard-fought win than by watching some Texas Rangers baseball.
